We are pleased to announce that memberships for 2023 are now available for purchase via Triathlon Ireland – Membership will be valid from the date of purchase until 31 December 2023, and you can start to participate in club sessions immediately.
Membership to Galway Triathlon Club for 2023 is €70 for Adults (Early bird of €60 until end of 2022) and €40 for Students / Unemployed / OAP – This does not include your Triathlon Ireland license, which is a mandatory purchase (insurance purposes) with varying options available, including Training License (€30), Full (Race) Licence (€79) and Combined Race + Swim Ireland License (€91) – More information about Triathlon Ireland License Types can be found here, and we are happy to assist if you are not sure which option to pick (with a race license you have insurance when you train on your own whereas with a training license you are only insured when training with the club)
Membership to Galway Triathlon Club includes the following:

- Weekly Coached Track Session
- Weekly Group Rides (2-3 Group levels depending on time of the year)
- Weekly Long Slow Run
- Weekly Kayak Supported Open Water Swimming (Summer)
- Bike TT Series (Summer)
- Aquathlon Series (Summer)
- Duathlon Series (Winter)
In addition to the above, your membership entitles you to purchase coached swim blocks subsidized by the club and cater for multiple levels (Improvers, Intermediate and Advanced). Swim blocks will be indoor (winter), and open water (summer) and are coached by experienced swim coaches who will help you improve your swimming – Currently, we offer coached swimming (pool) in Renmore, Galway City, and Salthill. We also offer paid turbo coaching (twice per week) and strength and conditioning; both are offered via zoom.
We also host social events (nights out, end-of-year party, social swims etc.) and the Annual GTC Bake-Off Championship (which is VERY competitive!)

If you are new to triathlon, things can be very daunting – But never fear; we have a fantastic committee, and our new member’s officer will help you get into the world of Triathlon – Included in your membership will be a beginners’ welcome gift (GTC branded tow float), beginners specific sessions including bike handling skills, coached open water swimming and running sessions – We will help you achieve your goal of completing your first triathlon in 2023!

A note on Triathlon Ireland Licenses:
The Training license will ONLY cover you while you are attending a club training session; if you are training alone, you would have no cover from Triathlon Ireland – The Full License (aka Race License) covers you while racing, training with Galway Triathlon Club and while training alone – More information around Triathlon Ireland insurance can be found HERE
