We’re thrilled to announce that the Annual GTC Bake-Off is just around the corner! Mark your calendars for Tuesday, July 25th 2023 – The bake-off will commence after the final Aquathlon, starting approximately at 8 PM on the lower rugby fields at Dangan.
Prepare your taste buds because the competition will be fierce, and our esteemed judges will have the challenging task of sampling all the delicious treats (a very difficult job!)
The rules are simple: bake anything sweet or savoury and bring it down to the Aquathlon for evaluation by our highly qualified judges and for fellow members to savour – Please have any baked goods that you plan to bring down dropped off at the registration table before 7 PM as the judges will be tasting and scoring while the aquathlon is in progress.
Our specially selected judging panel, consisting of Mary Berry (Joan) and Paul Hollywood (Damien), will be awarding prizes. Baked goods will be assessed based on skill, presentation, and taste, with each category being scored out of 10.
Who will be crowned this year’s baking champion? Join us to find out! It’s important to note that participation in the Aquathlon is NOT a requirement for entering the bake-off, and everyone is welcome.
We’ve recently caught wind of an intriguing rumour: it seems our friends from Tri-Lakes Triathlon Club are planning to enter the bake-off, aiming to snatch our cherished trophy right from under our noses. We cannot let this stand!
Prepare your secret family recipes, refine your techniques, and bring your A-game to the bake-off – Together, we will protect our coveted trophy!
